Hi, anyone has experience using GTX 680 or 770 (or similar specs) for Sketchup (viewport performance and GPU render)? I plan to use it for general Sketchup modeling, Vray RT and other realtime GPU renderer. My models usually have 5million faces. I already got a Quadro 4000 in my office workstation, which is fine. I just want to try consumer gaming card as comparison for my personal home PC.

    Thanks!

I have a GTX645 in my work desktop that works very well with SU, Maxwell, AutoCAD and Revit. I have had it for a year with no issues. Just purchased an ASUS laptop with a core i7 and a GTX 680M that will be used with same software. I expect it to work just as well.

Thanks, that's an older model so maybe I will check eBay or amazon for the price.

My freinds and I just ran some 3DMark benchmarks this last week. here are some scores and thoughts.

So... Two GTX470's is better than 1 GTX 580... But when you overclock the GTX580 you can beat them. and the GTX580 overclocks very well. Overclocked from 772 to 1000ghz and boosted the score to 5000 and still running cool at 30c idle and 70c load.

GTX 470's are about $40-60 on ebay.
GTX 580 are about $80-$100 on ebay.

            Scores.
            5016 GTX580 @ 1000mhz
            4996 GTX580 @ @ 900mhz
            4428 GTX580 @ @ 772mhz
            4874 (2) GTX470's @ 800mhz
            6600 GTX680 stock
            10,139 GTX780 stock
            13,587 GTX980 stock

the speed test is a single line of ruby that you paste into 'Ruby Console'

                Test.time_display

                the model can be any...

GTX 770 bumped my 3D Mark 1000 points. Can't wait for the second one to get here.

Too bad for me, my ASUS Z97-K board supports only AMD CrossfireX. Maybe I'll get GTX750ti, entry level. Hopefully it works fine.

GTX 580 surprisingly high.. it's an old generation card, right? Hmmm, I might give it a try. On benchmark above- does 1.5 or 3GB RAM matter ?
