Working with millimeters
-
Hi everyone,
I'm working on a cabinet pluggin and would like to add support for mm but never work in metric.... so I'd like some feedback for those who work with mm, how precise do you get?
Here's an example... in imperial 4 1/16in = 103.1875mm in metric. Would 103.1875mm be rounded off to 103, 103.19, 103.2 or not rounded at all?
Thanks,
Frank -
I think 1/10 mm is more than enough for woodworking, so my suggestion: 103,2mm

Are you looking simply to set values in metric, or to work with real metric sized cabinets? If the latter, there is no need for numerous decimal places, just find out the metric standards for equivalent parts (e.g. 19mm instead of 3/4 plywood) and use them. Nobody working in metric is really going to want to build a 4 1/16 inch part!

I work with millimeters and imperial and I don't round.
When I work in imperial I would cut a 4" nailer
When I work in metric it would be a 100mm nailerI will check the thickness of panels and adjust them to 1 decimal in mm.
I keep imperial and metric standards.
