ellen's alternate coffee table legs 3-3-2015.skp

How do I draw a stretcher in between two, curved table legs?
In my attached file, SketchUp does not seem to allow me to push/pull from a curved table leg...any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Extend the stretcher component so if overlaps both legs. Basically it would be longer than the space between the legs much like you'd do in the shop. Open the stretcher component for editing and select the outside vertical face. Right click on it and choose Intersect Faces>With Model. With Select, click in space to get out of edit mode, Either hide the legs or, make a copy (with Move/Copy) of the stretcher. Open the stretcher for editing and use Push/Pull from the outside face to the inside to get rid of the waste. the stretcher will be coped to the shape of the leg.

With the pro version this would be easier with a plugin called Trim and keep.

Are you going to use tenons on the ends of the stretcher to join it to the legs or maybe loose tenons? Or are you even concerned about joinery at this point?

Thanks for the help, Dave R. I would like to put a tenon on each end of the stretcher about 1/8" inset as well as have the corresponding mortise in the legs. Thanks! -Will G.
