      Hi All,

I think Z Space has been mentioned on the forums in the past but no price was mentioned as it was in early development.

roadster-popout-graphic.png I stumbled across the device again and its now a fully fledged commercial product. It looks that it does the job it was designed to do and does it very well. I think it would be fantastic to view a designed object in 'real' 3D! It might even be better than a 3D print in some ways!

After reading and viewing the available information on http://zspace.com/ I started to wonder what the cost of the Z Space system. I could not find a price mention of the site. The only way was to provide full contact details for a company rep to call and discuss! Alarms bells started to ring as I imagined some big 'cha-chings".

Not to be defeated I did a Net search and found a good article on the Z Space, zSpace, incredible 3D viewing by Mark Gibbs. Mark gives the device a 100% thumbs up and mentions that he regarded the $3,995 price tag to be quite fair. I tend to agree with him and think the folks at Z Space should be splashing the price around their site as it could only help sales.

Mark Gibbs review is here, http://www.networkworld.com/article/2225671/data-center/zspace--incredible-3d-viewing.html

Now that I know the price, I think I will contact Z Space and see if they are offering demos in my neck of the woods πŸ˜„

      Mike

yes, very cool! I really would like to try it.
But i'm not sure about the eye strain with this polarized 3D and how the eye behaves in the long term. For now i have only tried side by side 3D and it is really stressing the eye.

Numerobis, yes it would be interesting to try it out. As regards the eye strain issue. I imagine that one would not be using the Z Space for prolonged periods of time, only as a 'real' 3D viewer as needed but again as it becomes more compatible with software that could change.

BTW I am finding that my newly installed (Matt) Moshi 15" iVisor has reduced eye strain, no more of those reflections that I was getting with the glossy screen πŸ‘
