Hey y'all- Just thought I'd share my latest commission. Hall table made from Swiss Pear (a beautiful wonderful wood) with a bubinga drawer front. Construction features dovetail splined miters and through and wedged carcass tenons. Really satisfying project. In my original SketchUp model I had incorporated corner splines out of bubinga, but the pear wood told me they weren't necessary, and I listened

Very fine piece indeed.
Swiss Pear is also a wonderful wood for turning and carving.I recently turned a small bowl from the wood; it's a pale yellow now, but I expect it to darken to a lovely cinnamon brown.

Nice job! I see you changed the pull from the SU model also. More complicated to make I would guess, but still a cool detail.

Good eye. Yes, that was one of those things at the end of a project..."Do I really want to put in all this extra work for a slightly nicer end result?" Usually, just by asking the question you've already implied the answer. I'm glad i did it, but it was fussy...
