Sketchup 7 free dxf import

I recently got a new computer. I went online and downloaded SketchUp 7, which I had been using because that was the last update that allowed dxf imports in the free software.
once the pro version expired, dxf import no longer works. I seem to remember a plugin or some kind of tweak that allowed the import functionality, but I imported all my plugins from the old computer and it still doesn't work. Any ideas, besides buying the pro version? Can't afford that right now. -
If that's your only reason for using SU7 I would suggest you upgrade.
