Door Schedule Component
-
Door Schedule Component is used to save time in creating door schedules and allow the user to quickly change all of the door styles in a model. It is presented here in imperial, however it could be converted to metric. if someone does convert it, please add it to this thread so others might use it.
Door Schedule Component is 3 sets of standard Imperial door opening components 6'8",7'0" and 8'0" ranging from 1'0" wide to 6'0" wide in both 4" and 6" versions.
To utilize this component follow this work flow.
- Insert Door Schedule Component. place this off to the side of your model for later use.
- Instead of using your normal door components, use copies of the individual doors from your inserted Door Schedule Component.
- Once you've designed your structure and placed all of the Door Schedule Component openings, edit each door with in the Door Schedule Component adding your desired door component. If you create sets of Doors in the exact layout as Door Schedule Component you'll be able to change door styles more quickly.
- Add a scene to your model called Door Schedule Component and zoom the view to the Door Schedule Component.
- insert your model in to Layout and select the scene Door Schedule Component.
- Add your report results via copy paste. (Note: You'll have to subtract 1 from every door total because of the Door Schedule Component copy.)
Door Schedule Component uses the simple 1-19 circle door symbol but this can be replaced with whatever your standards dictate.
Door Schedule Component uses the WallSize-Width-Height-Number component naming system, this too can be edited to meet your desired standards.
Use the layers "Door Schedule" and "Door Schedule Symbols" to control visibility of Door Schedule Component geometry.
Using the Door Schedule Component and Sketchup's built in reporting system you will be able to use this to create Door Schedules in Layout or Autocad similar to this.
Hope this saves you some time.

I was just working on schedules today. Wishing my system were more auto. So easy to make mistakes. Thanks, I'll try it although I am not using LO for all my floor plans yet.

Should work when exporting to autocad as well, just won't update if you make changes.

Nice idea Kris. I like the workflow. I voted yes but I will probably adapt it to my needs. I guess the same thing can be done with windows. Thanks for sharing!

My pleasure Trevor... Yeah I'll make a window version soon.
