Make a plugin in to render scenes in vray
-
Hi,
I have been searching around and found a few old threads on this but no one seems to have found a solid solution.
So I use scenes a lot in sketchup sometimes ending up with 30-50 scenes, I use them to explain construction sequences and the camera doesn't move around much at all, it's just various combinations of hidden layers and objects.
I was wondering if there is a plugin or a script which could jump to the next scene with in sketchup then press the render button, once complete jump to the next scene and so on. I was hoping with 2.0 they would have fixed this... no dice apparently. The reason I ask is the "layers panel" plugin has a "render" teapot check box similar to what's in 3ds max and I figure this shows there is some sort of customisation for vray with plugins. If there isn't would this be possible to make and how easily? I would be happy to pay for such a plugin as it would remove the tediousness by a factor of 1/(x many renders)
Thanks for lending me your beautiful minds.

What I'm asking, next scene is available as a shortcut (page up/down) by default. would it be possible to have a script use this function and render after each scene and dump the render frame to somewhere? vray's method of selecting the scene isn't really ideal.
I have no idea when it comes to programming/scripting of programs.
Thanks.

I'd recommend you contact ChaosGroup and make a feature request.

FYI - there is a vray subforum, may be good to post questions there to get more people with vray knowledge looking at your question: http://sketchucation.com/forums/viewforum.php?f=322
I believe there will be a batch render mode included in the upcoming service pack for 2.0. Hopefully that will fulfill your request.
