Ability to draw in layout to a scale
-
I sometimes have the need to add lines and other elements on top of scaled sketchup views (1/4 scale etc) for things like floor elevation lines, column grid lines, even trees and furniture and other scrapbook elements. It would be really nice to be able to draw lines and move elements around in layout at a scale that matches the view of the model without having doing the mathmatical scale conversion to 1:1 in my head.

Yes! Being able to add scaled items (lines, objects, etc.) in Layout as an overlay to an "MView" of a Sketchup model would be helpful. This is already available using the Dimension Tool, simply add the function to the Line, Rectangle, Circle, Arc tools. Both the paper scale and "designated scale" could be shown in the Measurement window.
Let's Do It !!!

We definitely have this one on our list of "often requested" improvements!

The ability to change the scale of an object imported from Scrap books would be an AWESOME [bold] feature. If it is there already can some let me know ..thanks

Hi there!
I just encountered this problem and found a way you could handle it at the moment (maybe this is already known and nothing new): I write the measurement and divide it then with the scale. For instance if I want to draw 1m in a 1:20 scale in Layout, then I draw the line and type: 1000/20 and hit enter (1000 because of the mm - you can change this in the settings).
I know it might seem like extra work but it after 5 minutes became second nature to. Sure this is no ideal solution and an upcoming Layout feature has to be quite complex, interacting with the viewport and so on...
I'm also not sure if this works with feet, just tried it with metric measurements.

New for me, thanks.
How about scaled rectangles? -
I like this idea, i am thinking if you click on your viewport your line tool automatically sets the scale in reference to the viewport

I wish you have tutorial links of that. Please share
