Some well-off clients of ours just bought a beautiful beach house. Not much to be done but they wanted the covered area by the pool reconfigured with a bit of 'old world' feel. Not sure that was accomplished, haha... but here's what we came up with. SketchUp/Thea/Pshop

Very nice Jason, my only comment is the people is a bit out of place...

Other than that those renders are perfect...

Old world or new world colonial? Looking great. I would consider a less "Mod" version of the wicker back chair, than the teardrop. It sticks out and I bet it isn't that comfortable anyway. Your pictures are always inspiring.

What I have seen in a few such rooms in Hawaii is alcoves that one could sleep in and daybeds. Some opportunities for true lounging and napping. Even not-in-use had a relaxing feel. Good call on the Flip-Flops!

I like the blurry people on the outset of the image... gives a bit of realism. very nive renders. highly detailed room.

'Old Cuba' I think I heard was the description they gave. They wanted worn wood everywhere, but I didnt have time for that so I really just haphazardly went around with a rough photoshop brush trying to add a little wear here and there.

I'm trying and trying with the people. Needed a couple in here, but the space is so small I def needed to keep them on the edges so they wouldnt block anything important.

              Thanks for the comments.

                Looks good, as usual.
Is the woman in the first image blind? 'Cause she's one step away from running into that column in front of her. Maybe her sunglasses are just too dark? I suggest moving her to the left, so she's walking next to the colonnade, or replacing her with someone walking to the right.

                My avatar is an anachronism.

It would be perfect except I don't see a beer on the drink cart. 😆

But I wouldn't let that stop me from wanting to relax there all afternoon.
