Have you seen what's going on over at the Plant Factory?

One of the most exciting products of the year is drawing an open revolt in their comments section as price and usability features are announced. $1000.00 for the software and you can only sell the work you make with the software in the E-On Cornucopia Store for a 70%/30% cut... Ouch.
They are running a pre-order sale for 60% off.

Over here in SketchUp we have the TreeMaker Plugin by Pascal aka ppoublan and it's free... For now.

It's a disappointing turn of events, but I can't say I didn't see it coming.
I really cannot understand the marketing as potential customers told them what they wanted before release - moderate pricing and no usage restrictions. If E-On had listened the release would have been lauded across the CG community and they would have positioned Plant Factory as the go-to programme for high quality trees and plants.
I think they have shot themselves in the foot and put off a lot of potential customers.

I'd say!! I was waiting for this software for months (after they said it would be released) and now this!! What a complete waste of time.

Given that Xfrog software is now half price, it's also incredibly bad timing.

I agree... This was going the best procedural plant making software ever... This is what happens when Business people try to sell software.
But I use SketchUp almost entirely... So It's not like I could have used it much anyway.

Looks like they are doing some re-evaluation on those ideas.
