Hidden gemoetry being evil.
-
Alright, I am getting quite irritated with this. somehow from somewhere came a bunch of hidden geometry entangled throughout my model making things several times more complicated than they ought to be. this hidden geometry is attaching itself to each new surface that I attempt to create. which creates warping and division in the faces, making them extremely difficult to modify and build upon. So my questions are as follows:
1.) Does anyone know what on earth might've created all this annoying hidden geometry? this is one of my least complex models so I really can't understand.
2.) Is there a way either by means of a plugin or other function to mass delete all of these nuisances? there is a lot of them as I have discovered after viewing hidden, and it would be an extremely time consuming task to just manually delete them all.
3.) Is there precautions I can take in the future to prevent this from ever happening again?
Thank you everyone in advance for you help.

I see this from time to time. Usually it's a result of using imported geometry from for instance DWG/DXF files with some minor precision problems that appear to cascade throughout the model.

Maybe CleanUp: http://sketchucation.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=22920
But it won't prevent the problem from re-appearing. The root cause if probably precision problems. -
Use imported geometry as a guide, but don't model directly off it. Don't trust it to be square or parallel.

Thank you so much for the input Thomthom. This is actually quite helpful. ^.^
