Contemporary House Design Video
-
Hi folks
See my sketchup model renderings.
Its a contemporary house design which applies some of the plugins that allow you to make organic shapes.
I made a video which can be found on you tube at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z5zP9-jKJUc
Would appreciate some feedback.

Do comment if you get the chance always happy to receive feedback, good or bad?!

Love the design. Really cool.
However...
The exterior renders look "out of scale" for some reason and the light looks very artificial. Also, a background and sky with clouds would really help.
Also, not sure if you meant the car/driveway arch to look low-poly. Kind of jarring when the rest of the house is all very pleasing curves.
That said, the interior renders look very good and I really do like the overall design. Great concept!

Thanks Bryan. Thanks for the feedback. I spent some time rendering these but think I m gonna have to upgrade the renderer to be able to adjust the lighting and materials. Glad you like the concept/design though.

Maybe you can put it inside Lumion for a more video moving ?

This is a great start. Some ways to improve would be to increase your segment count on your curved objects, some of them have sharp corners. I also noticed in one of the interior shots it appears that your floor doesn't meet up with your wall...
What renderer are you using? Is the animation composed with SU native animation tools?

Thanks for the feedback on this, appreciated.
Should i use a plugin to smooth corners if so which one would you suggest. I need to make a few tweaks to the interior shots to get them right. Im using podium for rendering at the moment but would like to use another which has more options...
Its not composed with SU native animations, Imovie instead but I will look into this as it sounds like something I was looking for originally before I put them together.
Thanks again and hope to get some more tips...

Adam,
In regards to your inquiry, I'd have to say that Artisan is the best choice for smoothing out the curves you already have. There's a bit of a learning curve, and a small price tag, but the results could be stunning. In the future, you can adjust the amount of segments SU uses to draw curves in the user interface. When you first hit the circle or arc command, look at the box at the bottom of the screen and it should tell you how many segments you are drawing with, you can increase or decrease them to suit.
I've been away from Podium for too long to offer much advice with the renders, and many here have better opinions on what to use for a rendering software. I personally use Twilight because the price is right for the amount of options you get, but I'm seriously looking at Thea these days...
Cheers!
