Tomislavm i also have an old connection with this car, it was one of my all time favourites at the National Motor Museum when i was a child. It's still a menacing beast today.

Hello Chedda, when you mentioned modeling a car my thoughts were Austin Mini, Ford Escort...
She looks great, what about using a HDRi background and lighting that would really bring it to life.

Thanks for the comments guys.It seems you are reading my mind with the hdri suggestion ! I decided to take her out for a spin on Lake Eyre. It's not a regular car, in fact it's hardly a car especially with the tail fin, it's more of a stunted jet aircraft. I was also eyeing up the pink panther car but images are limited.

I'm too young to recall its record breaking exploits, but I too remember seeing it at Beaulieu as a lad.@chedda said:

I some senses it was the last of the true 'cars' that held the LSR. The turboshaft engine, while in principle a 'jet engine', did actually drive the wheels - and CN7 was the last such vehicle to hold the absolute world record prior to the rules being changed to allow jet/rocket propulsion.
The North American Eagle, which hopes to set a new record sometime soon, really is more of a 'stunted jet aircraft' - starting out life as a F-104 Starfighter, once flown by Chuck Yeager, the first man to break Mach 1 in flight. -
Thanks for the comments Steve i never knew the wheels were driven. I just assumed that the jet engines provided thrust.

That's a great metallic paint texture, what renderer did you use to create it?

The texture is the "car paint" procedural texture that ships with maxwell i merely adjusted down the metallic part to 0.

Looks awesome, is there an stl file or gcode of the cn7 bluebird that I can attempt to 3d print anywhere? I would love to make my own model.
