It says all the dots are somehow linked to each other (by traffic, although that would be multidimensional).

Sure, I just searched the site address in the find directions box I'm just impressed at the way they've presented the data in a really interesting way. I especially find it fascinating to zoom in next to some of the large sites and get a sense of the scale. It's like the scale comparisons you see of objects in the galaxy.
