Not recently. Only the virtual one. Besides, with all the drawing work I have, who has time for any woodworking?

            Nice, Dave!

Did you render it to get that wood texture? Otherwise the rest of it could have been done with your usual SU tricks. πŸ˜‰

I think it would look good with a straight/fine delineation as well.

            Thanks for posting.

              Thank you, Peter.

No rendering in the usual sense. The light colored wood is a plywood texture I have. I agree, something with a close, straight grain would look nice, too. I figured for the period of the style, fir plywood was appropriate. If I was building it, I might make the cases and doors from okume plywood and use wenge for the trim and legs.

I'm sorry. I meant the line style. That wood grain came out nicely for SU rendering. What kind of wood is it? Peter

Oh I see. Yes. It would probably be better to do this mid-century stuff with a crisper line style.

The light colored wood is fir ply and the image for the dark is called "apple13" although I don't think it is really any specific wood. The fir ply is actually a hand drawn texture.

                  You're up pretty early.

Here it is with a bamboo veneered ply and wenge for the trim and base. I used a straight line style instead of a sketchy one.

Nice work Dave. I will have to send you photos of my grandparents furniture that now resides in my house. Maybe I will even model it someday.

Yes great. Betty Draper wants a set, I'm sure.

Wow Dave - I really like the chairs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The sideboard though looks a little older that traditional mid century - 40's! It's a little tall for mid century!

                                Thank you, Richard.

You're right. The sideboard is a little taller than it should be. More useful space in my tall one. πŸ˜‰ This is the original. Based on one in a book published in 1957.

I have seen some photos of similar pieces that are taller than the tall one I did, though.
