      Hi,

      I have 2 questions please.

      1. I download a component to my project. On completion of downloading it is nowhere to be seen, it seems to matter not if my request is a download directly onto the project or otherwise. Where or how can I find what I download please?
      2. Can one download a component once only and somehow save it to reuse these in other projects or must one download the same components separately for each project?
        Thank you
        Hans

Hans, can you download things from the Warehouse via the web interface and then open them?

Or try to download a component into a completely empty model. Then use Zoom extents to see where it is.

A possibility is that you are modelling in some very large sizes and whatever you download and insert seems to be miniature compared to your zoom extent. Get the Tape measure tool to measure a supposedly know dimension (like a door or something).

        Gai...

          Hello Gaieus
          Thank you for the reply.
Yes i can download from the internet. Now that you mention it, yes it provides the Copy icon on my chart with a tiny dot - prhaps that is the model?
How can I reset my modelling size to enable the component to show?
I'll ry the empty model bit and see.
          Thank you
          Hans

A template not only contains style, unit and other settings but also camera parameters (zoom factor). I usually make my own templates setting all these things then I draw a rectangle at about the size I normally start a model at (that's normally a building so a woodworker would draw something smaller).

I I press Shift+Z to zoom extents then delete the rectangle from the model and go to File > Save as template. If you leave the bottom left box checked (to use this new file as a template), the next time you start a new model, this is where you start.

This is, of course, only important if you indeed had some zooming problems (but I have seen this often)

This is the size of my set up - can this be the problem - see attchement

It's not about units but abourt how far you are zoomed in/out. How big is that rectangle for instance? What happens when you import a component into your model and press Shift+Z (Zoom extents)?
