    Hello everyone,

I am an architecture student and have been using sketchup for many years now. I remember when I found the zorro tool (plugin that slices models), it was so useful to create sections that I could then render!

But that was back in the day when I had sketchup 6 - I currently own sketchup pro 8, and although I can install the plugin, it only works for very simple constructions (say, a cube), and immediately crashes if I try a model of greater complexity, which sketchup 6 would have eventually have been able to cut.

I have tried to download sketchup 6 from the google sketchup website, but it says that the "installer is damaged" so I can't follow through with it.

Is there any way of getting zorro to work properly in sketchup 8, or any alternatives (for example, does anyone know where I can get sketchup 6 for mac? or any tools on the new sketchup that replace what zorro did anyways??)

    Thank you!

    Marta

I've had the same problem myself, but solved it by reducing the number of plugins I have installed. Even not loading as many helps too. Doing this also helps with options greying out occasionally.

Start with unloading / removing the larger (file size) ones that you aren't using there and then. You could always save, unload everything, reload SU, run zorro then reload the plugins again etc.

It really is a good idea to use Fredo's additional folders rb, and go systematicly go through your plugins, removing those that duplicate functions or ones that you don't need. Difficult to do when you have a deadline or crit coming up but its worth it in the long run.

Hope that helps, it worked for me, so hopefully it will work for you too.
