Hi to all, I need an advice. We are very small architecture studio and want to go from win to macos. I cant invest too much money to buy new HW, so my question is, what is the lowest reasonable configuration for Mac for n architect, 50% of time cad 2d drawing, 30% sketchup modeling and about 20% vray rendering, some post pro and so on. Now I have AMD athlon X4 at 2.8GHz with ati 5750 and for me the speed is quite enough.
    thanks in advance

that's kind of a hard question to answer (lowest reasonable etc...)
what's your actual budget per machine?

honestly, from my experience, i think every mac out there will be fine for your purposes except for the macbook airs and 13" macbook pros.. this will probably be changing shortly when the ivy bridge macs start shipping which will (supposedly) have much better performance from the integrated graphics..

Well I was thinking to buy second hand Imac 21,5 i3 3,06 for my college and for me maybe some kind o imac mini (to be able to take it with me home for ocasional home office) or some new macbook pro with lower config or also maybe used one with better confing. Really dont know what to do, but I;m afarid to downgrade my HW although it will be MacOS. thansk for any kind of help or advice

The 21" iMac would be a good choice also check out the refurbished Macs on your local apple site and from your local Mac resellers. They normally give a 12 month warranty with the refurbs also 👍
