        This looks like really interesting and valuable research, and suggest others follow the links you have provided to have a look at the scope of the work your doing.
        Your work seems to be reasonably open sourced. Do you see the algorithms you have developed being applicable in other rendering software, or is the intent more pure research?

            Spectacular stuff...and a heck of a lot more convincing and practically applicable than those voxel demos that crop up from time to time.

            The only thing that struck a false note is the fact that every tree seems to be standing in its own space rather than overlapping to form a solid canopy...a comparitively minor distribution factor. But as a proof of concept it's brilliant.
