    Dear Members,

We have received sad news today about our good friend Honoluludesktop. It is with deep regret that I am informing you that our good friend Honoluludesktop passed away on August 5th in San Francisco. He is survived by his daughter, Elizabeth.

Honoluludesktop's name was Wesley Yoshikawa and he was a Honolulu based architect. He was one of the most friendly and helpful members that ever frequented SketchUcation, always lending a helpful hand in his many open posts. A true gentleman.

He will be missed, may he Rest in Peace.

Oh my god, Mike, how terrible.
You're right, he seemed always there to offer insight and help to any question, not to mention his generosity with sharing his scripts...

I can't believe this.....My thoughts go out to his family and friends.

Honolulu was an honest and forthright contributor.
          I am so saddened.
It has been a honor to be associated with him.
I share utiler's thoughts for family and friends.

Yeah, this news was quite shocking to me as well. He was a friend here on the forum. He and I chatted a bit in PM's while he was developing some of his early scripts. He had a bit of previous CAD programming experience, so he was working to transfer that knowledge over to SketchUp programming. He was doing quite well at it.

                We'll miss you Honolulu,

                Chris

                  Very sad news 😞
I never imagined that the death of a person I didn't knew personally will affect me πŸ˜• . It did. Was he that old?
I learned a lot from this community and I'm not talking about sketchup, but about dedication, about selflessness. Let's just hope we will not get such news in near future.

                  Rest in peace!

Very saddened by this news - he was always very helpful, gentle and honest with his criticism - keen to see all who asked for help improve their skills. He will be missed here! 😞

I read this sad news minutes after Mike posted it and here I am 12 hours later and I still don't know what to say.

Getting to know people in the virtual world is a strange new phenomena, although you have never met them you get to know their personalities in a strangely unique way. You read their posts and look at their work and somehow you feel a personal connection. Some people annoy you, some you are indifferent to, some make you laugh out loud or quietly chuckle to yourself. You may never directly correspond with them but each post you read adds up to a complete personality that you are familiar with. Over time you get to know who is worth listening to and Honoluludesktop certainly was.

Honoluludesktop's posts were always a good read, helpful, patient, talented, often humorous and always trustworthy. I had noticed he hadn't been around for a while but that is usually pretty normal for forums, people come and go all the time. To know he won't be posting again is sad indeed.

My best wishes go out to Wesleys daughter, Elizabeth and all his friends and colleagues. He will be missed and is already.

May you rest peacefully and your spirit live on in your creations.

I wonder is there anything we as a community can do for his family?
