Any idea?

Hi Majid,
Yes, its only you that can decide on what to do. However while you might be low on financial wealth, you have an abundance of talent / education wealth and at the end of the day this is the more valuable. Cash is just paper! However I think to know this already.
Both my daughters are now abroad. One in Brighton and one in Melbourne (Oz). Years ago this would have been hard for parents but these days we have the Net and contact is ongoing.
To tell you the truth, I have more contact with my daughters these days via Skype than I had when they were living in the family home
Shelly, the youngest daughter in Oz, is thinking about staying on for 4 years if she can swing it with her employers. Looks like we, Pauline, Clara & Rob (Clara's partner) will be having Shelly attending the Christmas dinner via Skype
If I had to suggest a place to look into, it would be Oz. Construction is doing well there and the lifestyle is good .... also the people (most important) are laid back and easy going.
Mike
PS: The watercolors are magnificent

wow , thanx dear mates for your kind words and attentions. very informative and wise points.
I love our forum for this warm atmosphere.
Thanx mayor , about the paintings -
Majid
Mate my parents are my inspiration - they upped and outed from the UK for a different life in Australia when I was still a baby and with two other kids. Not at all that it is the same but it proves to me (and we see so many others do so) it is easy to take a risk and make a change for the better. It is indeed often more risky NOT TOO!

For what it is worth, there are thriving Iranian communities in many parts of the US. San Francisco, San Jose, LA and Phoenix are ones I know of. I am sure there are many others as well. As jobs and support go, earth seems screwed at the moment and I am not aware of other practical options at the moment. I wish you the best as you struggle with your decision.

Majid, those watercolors are a true work of art!
Now, some 15 years ago I found myself in a situation possibly similar to your current position.
Things have been pretty exciting in the Balkans back then.
Times were tough - I was broke, I've lost a lot of my friends to emigration...quite a "should I stay or should I go" situation. Eventually I´ve decided to "go" and to start all over again.
And I had my share of ups and downs trying to sort things out.But things got sorted out, inch by inch. From my current standpoint, I only regret that I hadn´t done it sooner. I wouldn´t wonder if I´ll have the energy to be as active as my child needs me to be
So keep your head up, my friend. Whatever your choice will be, I´ll keep my fingers crossed for you.
Cheers!

Majid, I've no understanding of what the situation really is in Iran, seeing how what little news I see is from a western perspective, so cannot advise you. But, based on your original post..."3rd way is my way, being free ,talented ,educated"... I wonder if you haven't already answered your own question.
Whatever you decide, I hope the best for you; a life filled with happiness and prosperity.

Hi Majid
I feel your dilemma; having uprooted myself with wife and three children some 18 years ago. At the time - in my late 30's - I left Uruguay; we came to the US and started very much from scratch. Actually, my wife uprooted herself once more before me, she left her home country when she said "I do" to marry me.The bottom line is, corny as it may sound, home is actually a concept: where the heart is and where you will/can manage to make of it both literally as well as figuratively. All the very best.
Cheers,
. Diego .

Hi Majid.
Nice pictures
I'm too familiar with your dilemma...also 35 years, from Serbia, but with wife and 2 kids ...also similar choice:
1- being employed by government
2- have dirty relations (rants..)
3rd- way is my way, being free ,talented ,educated ,...but starving!!(not really, but always on the edge)4th...the only thing different is I didn't had to pay for my love...so I didn't leave as many other did.
For me, this 4th is the only reason why you should leave...the rest is not so important.

Come to America... it's a great place to live.
