Thanks for the tips guys. Tadema ironically the pp you did picked up the displaced grass so it was a successfull effect. I agree the grass is an extra not needed especially at this range plus without displacement my machine is a lot snappier ! Here is the updated version with some extra polishing. I found it quite interesting to see my interpretation from 2D plans compared to the architects pallette, it seems i was a mile off ! On a side note i was looking for a boot/mud scraper to place by the front door i was unable to find one yet on the warehouse anyone seen one ?

Being new to Maxwell, i can say i am still really enjoying it and i have a lot more to learn.

Hello Chedda, looks miles better, the glass reflection and new roofing really sets it off.

Thanks Tadema the ability to orientate the reflective image independently is a godsend in maxwell. The images are working as i am getting a lot of feedback from the client & architect however they are very conflicting. It looks like we are going to have to thrash it out. The off white render & window frame/door colour needs to be explored. Rear elevation next.

The rear elevation, the colour scheme here of cream & aluminium frames was done to humour the architect, the client wants almost brilliant white with oak frames (coming next)

She is proving very difficult i have taken her to all my exotic models but i still haven't undressed her. Even if i did i'm not sure i would share my experience (she's special). I think a 3D model with high poly breasts is needed for the water to lap around. I think the nipples should be exactly at water level ?

Cheeda mate they are looking great!

An old tip I've used in MR for ages to cut right back on tiling of textures and I use it for about every material in scene that covers large areas: add an extra layer in the MXM weighted VERY low and apply a mottling map (PS Filter>render>clouds works well) apply a 0.2 (say) tiling repeat (meaning the map will occur 0.2 times in the SU placed map repetition. Keep the same bump map to this layer at 1:1 repeat so bump isn't lost!

                  Pretty much nails the tiling!

Thankyou Richard for the tips. I must say Maxwell has been a joy to learn & use it's results are very predictable which makes a big difference in my workflow compared to biased renders. The only problem is the hardware & time needed but i believe it's worth it in the end. The public has become very exposed to 3d work and have raised there expectations accordingly Maxwell always answers that need.

There's the proof - either high class or high poly chicks put a strain on your bank balance or hardware!

Dormers were added to the rear elevation enabling this loft scene:

                            I like these a lot πŸ˜„.

Are those trees 2D? I really like the loft scene... although privacy anyone? πŸ˜› Especially when it seems like the bathroom window is on the front of the house! I think your house needs some curtains/blinds. Also, those candles... are they just an emissive material on a candle flame model?

                            Good stuff!

The trees are 3D. Your right there is a privacy issue but that window is at the rear (they are the same). A screen/curtain solution will be designed. At the moment the interior is very undecided so the main job was the exterior. The candle is a modelled flame (teardrop) with a scaled smaller flame with emitter (inside). So yes just emissive. I have attached the tea-light.Thanks for the comment.

Great image! Liked how its evolved since your first post. Just add some leadwork or similar in the valley where the 2 roof pitches meet and you have a winner πŸ‘

I managed to finally get to the site, here are some iphone images. The client was impressed with the similarity between the 3d images and the final structure. He also mentioned that the renders had been useful for contractors/neighbours etc. They also gave them hope during all the upheaval & heavy construction !
