      Hi Everybody

Just finished updating one of our rainheads into SketchUp. With this component Ive added a ZINCALUME® steel texture.
It was based on one of our feature projects.

Its free to download from SteelSelect.com and the link is http://steelselect.com/download_centre/download.php?id=4879
The page has a link to the feature article.

We have a lot of rainheads on the site and hope to have available more of these in SketchUp format.

Hope you enjoy, any feedback please let me know.

*We are considering having a user added section - what do you think?

      Regards
      Richard

        Hi Richard,

There are a couple extra Components (and their Materials) in the file which are making it much larger than it needs to be.

You should Purge un-used Components, Materials, Layers, and Styles. This can be done from the fly-out menus of the respective dialog windows, but here's a great plugin that purges them all at once.

A lot of the details in the component will go unnoticed when it is used as as a relatively minor detail in a larger model. I have attached the model keeping the poly-count to a minimum.

There are reasons for making a higher-poly version also - for rendering and to showcase the product, for example. The current version falls somewhere in between these uses.

          Thanks Jim

Sorry about the extra components in the file. I have purged them and uploaded the new file to SteelSelect - lot smaller 😄

I understand your comments on The poly-count - this model was one that we imported from AutoCAD and does look very heavy on the lines.
What process would you recommend to drop the count?

          Regards
          Richard
