      Looking good

My commuter is an old antique, its a 1976 hand built Dawes, my Dad bought it when he was around my age and its still in amazing condition. The gears are a bit mental but you get used to that lol

Nice, I would buy a more modern, lighter commuter if I didn't have a million and one things to buy beforehand, but my Dads does the job well. How much did that set you back?

Haha I have been to Formby Cycles Alan, my little brother got his paper-round bike from them a while back. Always nice to look at the bikes you will never ride! I do the same in London now in the car shops by work, there is a nice Pagini Zonda F off Park Lane only Β£740,000

I would have my eyes on this badboy for commuting to work>> http://www.formbycycles.co.uk/product/8746/Trek_District_Carbon_Single_Speed_Road_Bike_2011

Yes, just dreaming. Don't need it anyway, it's as flat as a pancake round here...and the bike has yet to be invented that can tackle the sand dunes on the beach. πŸ˜„
I don't have to commute; I work from home. So to make up for sitting on my arse all day I hare around the extremities of Formby every morning before the roads get too busy.
My daughter's going to college in the Hague this September. She's looking forward to buying a sit-up-and-beg (with basket, of course)...for about a third of the price you pay for them here.

The bikes in question were designed for the Iditarod trail... so they can make it up, over and through some pretty tough terrain.

It is worth looking into. The rules have changed recently, now the company has to charge a representative amount for the bike at the end of the scheme. Which is up to 25%!

Do you usually have to purchase from a shop or could you get one from ebay for example? I know all companies are different I just mean in general from your experience?

For us its from Evans or a network of independent shops. EBay isn't on the list.
