Isolate groups of geometry (3ds max mode)

While modeling.. I thought..
Will exist a plugin that allows us to isolate two or more objects (components or groups), by selection and independently from what visible layer they belongs!Just as 3dsmax's modeling workflow (isolate selection switch)!
This one can enhance the limit of "hide rest of model/components" technique (works only on one object at time).
For me, to do this, the only way is to bring the groups of objects to in a common layer and isolate this one!
Very annoying stuff!
