-
Just watched 'Future by design' a William Gazecki movie about the life of Jacques Fresco.
I'm blown away, what a genius, a thinker beyond his era.

some claims have labeled him a cult leader due to his figurehead status in The Zeitgeist Movement
The 'Reception' section is of particular interest. Then there's this link to a fascinating read.

Seems Jacques Rougerie and Vincent Callebot are on the same boat

In a world set to plundering and no future planning outside the realm of deep profits, it's refreshing to see those set to push the limits of progress and plan for a society motivated by logic and sound reasoning. It's a real zeitgeist.

More ghost than spirit, unfortunately - greed and profit still are the driving factor. One can still hope though, and looking at things like this helps.

European Revolution
Spain is pushing forward!
Direct democracy is the only way. There is something I wanted to say about Spain.
And that comes related with Jacques Fresco.
The goal of the Zeitgeist movement, to which J.Fresco belongs, is to change the world by basically destroying the MONETARY SYSTEM. J.Fresco explains it very well in that film how that system by itself corrupts the human behaviour.
Well, the basic principles of the Real Democracy Now, that is how the movement is called, are three :
1,.) To develop as an Horizontal movement. Leaders are not allowed. There are no leaders.
2,.) The search for collective thinking . Everything is discussed in the Assemblies, Neighbourhood, Local,...National...International ?... and resolutions must be taken by consensus. No-one must fall apart.
3,._) Non ViolenceThis are the tools of the movement so far. And I think that if this revolution of thinking and acting develops and grows, the Monetary System has its days, counted. And we will all-together, find, the new way.
cheers, take action,****:_)))

When everybody is on the same wavelength, we will be ants.
Edit: Hopefully, this will be my last socio-geo-political comment-- because who needs it?

I know someone else who agrees with you.
"Committees are, by nature, timid. They are based on the premise of safety in numbers; content to survive inconspicuously, rather than take risks and move independently ahead. Without independence, without the freedom for new ideas to be tried, to fail, and to ultimately succeed, the world will not move ahead, but live in fear of its own potential." Dr. Ferdinand Porsche” -
Juan always exsplains it better

Of course not, but I don't see how is it related to direct democracy concept, except that IT IS the opportunity for new ideas to be liberated.
To give all people right to express them. Corruption stops new ideas. Direct democracy is the solution.
When profit is the only goal the new ideas are wasted on bad things for people. When it is not, all new ideas are well used.
Open source software is good example of new ideas - products from the community.
Ruby plugin writers from this forum are also. IMO this is what the world should look like.
Not everybody are equal. People are evaluated for they contribution to the community, not for making profit. Like TIG, TT, Didier...
This FORUM is an example of true democracy. -

In effect if this forum would be a country then it would be a benevolent oligarchy. There are only 3 people who have absolute control over it(admins) and a bunch of others who carry out the policy of the 3(moderators).
This forum or any forum is never a true democracy. And about the talk of the European revolution and Zeitgeist movement, colour me a skeptic on both. Some of the European Revolution's demands sound a bit too socialist and utopian for my liberal tastes, but I do want change and also welcome the debate and discussions happening because of these movements.
