I don't think this is what Fredo has in mind.
If every plugin author posts a topic to control the update of their plugin, this forum will become cluttered. Perhaps only one topic for all plugin control "tags" ??

As pointed out by Dan, for plugins published on Sketchucation, the idea was that script writers would simply create a single post as a response in this thread. Then, by editing their post they could update the release information and add new plugins.
By the way, I am interested to know what is this plugin, and why it does require LibFredo6 3.7? Note that to participate into the Check Plugins for Update feature, plugins do not need specifically to depend on LibFredo6.
