Some Recent Practice
-
I wasn't in the mood to do anything too strenuous but I was thinking I should practice a little to keep from getting rusty.
Based on one from around 1903 or 1904. Drawn to actual dimensions but I think the back posts should taper a bit more and the knobs should be smaller. Thanks to Boofredlay for the rush texture on the seat.
These were inspired by a photo I found some place. I think these would make an easy weekend project for my son and I to build. If it rains tomorrow, we may build them.

Dave you are inspiring.
Keep it up please.

Thank you very much Dale.

Nice models and great seat texture!

Thanks Eric. I have to give credit to the goofy, smiley guy who made it for me.

Hi, Dave:
Nice chair.
A nearby catfish emporium has ladderback chairs. I don't know what they did, or failed to do to them, but every so often someone will rise from one of these chairs and it tips over with a "whack!". -
Thanks Tim.
They should put some lead under the seat at the front. That front bottom rung on the chair is pretty low. It wouldn't surprise me if people catch the heels of their shoes under them.
by "catfish emporium" I assume you are referring to an eating establishment? Doesn't a mess of fresh catfish lightly battered and fried sound delicious right about now. Yummy!

Yeah, and hushpuppies too!!
This place also serves beer by the pitcher, so it is not only the chairs that get tipsy -
I can see that, then.
I'm bummed. Catfish and hushpuppies. And I'm sure you aren't anywhere close to me. Whimper.
