Maxwell-Sketchup OSX Ruby Script problem

Hi all,
Firstly, I have no working knowledge of Ruby but can see logically from looking at the .rb file that each of the .html files to the plugin menu all link to the logical path of Applications/Maxwell....
Each of the icons on the Maxwell plugin panel work fine bar the Material Observer one. For love nor money, no amendments to the script seem to enable this particular feature to work. Is this a known issue or is anybody able to shed some light at all?
I'm using Sketchup Pro 7 and Maxwell 2 on OSX.
