Thanks guys.
The challenge here is to match version/build numbers with MR numbers and localizations.
I image both John and Kris are using en-US localized builds.
John, your 6.4.245 cannot be 6.4 M6 (the latest security release,) so do you think it is probably 6.4 M5 ??
Kris, if the assumption for John's version is true... your 6.4.112 cannot be M5 or M6.
What MR release do you think it could be?.
When it comes to MR nums for branches 5.0 and 6.0, I have no idea how many MRs there were (for each including M0,) or what the initial build for M0 was, or the last build was for the final MR.It would be nice to allow a script to identify MR numbers for these branches, but the Google guys want us to forget about them. (Each week people download and install some of these older obsolete versions, from 3rd party download websites. But I assume the Google Updater will notify them that a newer version is available... and they are led to the Google download page, where it's hoped they will install ver 6.4 at a minimum.)

mine is En Version but I don't know what MR's are... so I would need more explanation of where I can get the info on each install.

THAT IS the problem I am trying to solve... only Google has the answers, because the MR (Maintenance Release,) number is:
- not part of the Installer binary filename* is not a property saved with the Installer binary* is not a property saved with the sketchup program binary* is not a part of the Sketchup version number* is not exposed thru the API as a method or constant.
I tried my darndest to get them to do this for the SU 8 releases, but they wouldn't citing "internal complex reasons."
So I am endevouring to write a script that will set a Ruby constant for the MR number when Sketchup loads. (I have it proto'd out just need to plug in the build number in the correct places in the script.)
-
So I'm hoping someone out there does what I do when I download an Installer for a new Maintenance Release.
I make folders (on my E:\ drive,) and name them MR0, MR1, MR2 ..etc., and save the Installers there in the folder for the matching MR.
