AC3D plugin problem
-
I have made numerous models in SU and converted to .ac files with the AC3D plugin with no problems. Now, the solid colors in SU are no longer recognized by AC3D (colors are not listed in the .ac file). SU files previously made can still be modified - colors changed/added - but new files don't export solid colors to .ac files. Translucent colors still export.
Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated...
Cheers, neilds

Hi Neil,
I'm not sure to which plugin you are referring? Is it something that comes with AC3D?

Sorry, I was thinking it was a SU plugin. Here is the link for my source.

I suppose I need to post my problem in that venue.
Thanks for your reply,

Neil, you have another option to consider. Su2Obj, then Obj2Ac3d. While I have no idea it it will work, you may want to give it try. There is a skp2obj by Tig here, and Ac3d will read obj files.

I tried the exporter - it appears to work. I don't have AC3D in order to do a true test, but I made a box with some materials and after looking at the exported file it seems like the colors are included.
The AC3D page says it imports/exports COLLADA (.dae) files which may be a good option - did you try that?

I should clarify what I'm trying to do. I don't have AC3D - I just need the model in the .ac file format in order to install the model in the FlightGear program.
What I don't understand is, why were the colors being exported for previous models (the exporter worked as it should), and now they aren't. The export is inconsistent now. On one attempt none of the colors appear listed in the .ac file; on another attempt maybe half the colors are listed, but then don't appear on the model.

Thanks for the info. I don't need to import the model into AC3D, I just need the model in the .ac format for the receiving program to read.

I use AC3D for UVW mapping... and I use the Object Exporter.
