Mayan Sacrificial Pyramid [WIP]
-
I am a little short on the money part, so I wont be able to on that. I may try to make on in another 3d program...\
Anyway here is an update to hopefully get people interested.
I added a greeble like effect.
-
SU has it's own built-in walk-through. I think there are tuts on Google forums or here.
That model is looking good. I can't wait to see it finished as well.
-
I just tried out the sketchup scenes and god are they awful, if I am trying to traverse through tight little tunnels there is no way to really make sure you dont go through the walls, I think if I do a walkthrough I will make it in something with path editing.. (No offense)
-
There is a way to path animate in SU with Fredo6 polyline divider tool and flightpath rubies. The tutorial for it is here at the bz-animation plugin: http://forums.sketchucation.com/viewtopic.php?f=323&t=20173&p=167997&hilit=flightpath#p167997
A caution - if you have a long path, you will get a huge number of scenes. I usually split my model up into different sections of the path once I am ready to render, this way the amount of scenes is under control. (and also I can take advantage of multiple processor cores...)-Andy
Oh yeah, and crazy model! It'll look pretty cool with textures and maybe some Mayans to boot...

Another Update!
Looking up at the temple from a balcony.
-
intriguing model. Just the sort of thing I'd like to model. Looking good. You might try some corbel arches and vaults like the Mayans used. Would look cool.
-
I missed that one, thankyou for pointing it out, although it is a little late and would take some effort to actually install some into the model..
EDIT: I just realized that the Mayans designed each pyramid for very specific purposes bot on most you can see a snake formed by the shadows on the vernal equinox with the snakes head being a sculpture...
Just amazing how much goes into the megalithic marvels..
This website seems to be quite informative..
-
I have almost finished putting in block details, I wont be putting the corbel arches into this one, but I plan on doing some more and I will put them into those ones..
--UPDATE--
-
The Block detailing is complete, I will try a couple of renders and then go into texturing it..
-
A few AO renders to wet the lips with. On to texturing, and then more renders and more models to make a great scene for this..
What do you think?
-
I am definately not that good at rendering or getting the textures right, but I gave it a try in kerkythea anyway. I want to try a few different programs that I can get for free or already have so bare with me while I try to get this done in scorching heat.
My computer overheated yesturday so I don't know if it will today, otherwise the first renders would be up already.
Anyway pass on the comments please..
EDIT: These are PhotonMap High + AA 0.3 Renders.
