Strange Problem uploading to GE
-
I recently did a few, quick models of the University near me.
In my model file (attached) all of the models sit perfectly on the terrain, albeit with a bit of build-up due to the undulating ground.
However, these two models: http://sketchup.google.com/3dwarehouse/details?mid=beff74ce1ae9cfed1d689b49bce4ea71 and http://sketchup.google.com/3dwarehouse/details?mid=6beda06c91bc8f891d689b49bce4ea71 both sit way above the terrain, and I can't fathom out why.
Even when I download the model from 3DW into a new file and re-import the terrain, itβs still OK.
The Terrain was only fetched on Saturday, so can't be out of date, especially considering the fact that the other buildings are OK, including buildings which are right next to the ones in questions.
Any thoughts?

Hi Lee,
How did you upload the individual models from the master file?
There are three ways (one buggy and will result in something you experience):- Right click on a component and "share component" from the context menu (works)
- In the component browser window, right click on a component > Save as... then open that component and upload to the warehouse (works)
- In the model, right click on a component > Save as... then open that model and upload (does NOT work - more exactly results in similar issues as you have experienced)

I'm pretty certain I did method (1) for all my uploads. I'll have a fiddle now....
Thanks for the response Gai.

I've tried all three methods, with no success whatsoever.
How bizzarre.

Hm. I also tried to save one building out and preview in GE but it is about 4-5 metres away from where it is when I export the whole model.
Considering that this should be the expected workflow (say when you have a city block of attached buildings - export them individually), it indeed seems to be buggy. I am not sure however what causes it.Lee, you have a better place now to report such issues I guess.

Cheers, Gai.
I will post in the forum when I get chance.
Thanks for your input.
