Architectural Peculiarities

I don't know if the Corner Bar is the best place for this kind of post but I don't know where else to put it.
Anyway, I wanted to create this thread because of this blog http://historo.wordpress.com/ that contains pictures and information on Romanian architecture and because I know there are quite a few architects around here who might appreciate, be inspired or could use this kind of things.

Though that blog is specifically about architectural elements found in Romania, I didn't want to name the thread for it because I think it would be interesting and indeed useful if people would post pictures and information about interesting architectural elements found in their country/region/city/village.
