Omerta in the streets of the escorts

its quite a while since i've been here. nice to be back and be able to render freely on my own pace. here's a render of mine, which i did each time i was free from work. c&c's are very much welcome.
this piece was inspired by an old building in manila that was "wrongly" developed as a commercial establishment.

Really nice picture, but where's the render? (just kidding)
-
It's a bit dark...but maybe that's intentional?
-
thank you for dropping by,sires.
yup, the render is intentionally dark, to depict an old building turned into something of business that is calm and yet chilling in atmosphere, the restaurant as front and mob operations at the back. if you'll notice the airship at the upper right, its the goodyear one, as seen by tony montana in the movie scarface, just to remind of mob stuff. basically, its all about the mob, but only in the philippine sort of setting. the building used here, is located at escolta, manila.

Very nice render, delineator.
That would be cool to add some fog for atmospheric perspective and mood.
Best,

@ken: thanks for the comment bro, as well as the advice, i'll try to tweak the render with regards to the fog.

Great work Delineator! Looks like the kind of place that is usually busy
I expect it would be exceedingly difficult to populate the render with a convincing crowd. Another approach (easier) would be to have it communicate a story as to why it is empty of people. One idea that comes to mind, based on your description of the kind of place it is, would be to turn it into a crime scene. You could draw some chalk outlines on the ground where the bodies were found and put up some police tape barriers. Furthermore the cafe tables could be dressed to look like they were quickly abandoned with glassware & dishes, and maybe table cloths with one or two pulled askew. A chair could be flipped. And perhaps the blimp could have a flood light shining down...
