This time Thea
-
I have to confess...speed and quality .....nothing beats Thea....It took only couple of minutes on my laptop (IR) and no pp apart from frame , signature and reduction of size.
-
Looking GREAT, Sid...
Although the Shaderlight render also looked good, I feel the lightning in this looks better... -
Cool stuff Sid, if you use an IBL and not physical sun it will render even faster and give even smoother shadows.
-
Hi,
i'm very interested in Thea Render, the results that i see online are truly amazing.
I think tomorrow will download the trial version.
@Solo: excuse my ignorance, but what is an IBL?thanks
Ivan -
ok, i found the answer myself, is that correct?
-
Thanks Frederik...
Solo it is actually both IBL and sun at the same time.
Ivan, IBL stands for image based lighting, be it hdr or ldr. -
Nice Sid!
Mate that is an eye catching car too, what is it? I so wish I had the time, money and mechanical ability to restore an older car with character. There is just that nice nostalgia around them. Love it!
-
Thanks Richard. It is Mazda...Yes it would be nice to be able to have one of these.

That's a great render Sid. That car is a LOT of fun to play with. Here is a copy in the warehouse:
Great stuff,

It seem out of focus... You should try the auto focus...
I'm sure supersampling set to high would help also in this scene... -
Hmmm.... it does look out of focus on the forum but the image on my desktop does not.....
It had autofocus and autosampling was on auto. -
Nice render sid.
Just curious, why you all testing renderers on cars? I personally find them rather ugly objects. And boring... I prefer objects that involve SSS, caustics and even more like huge amount of faces etc. -
Thanks Michalis. I do not find all of them ugly ...on the contrary. The reason I play with cars at moment is simply because the scenes are quite easy to set up.
