Architectural model animations - basic
-
Animations as modeling more than presentation tools, but that, too. Here's one for an addition to an existing house (handsome, but not by me). First is the house more or less as is, then with the proposal added. I converted the 2d data for all of it and then did a fairly quick scheme to show them how the addition might take advantage of the terrain. An admittedly fun opportunity. When the models are small like this the animations can come fast, even with shadows. Sadly, I've now bloated it up.

Hi Brooke,
A nice touch is to animate shadows as you move the camera; make the building seem a little more alive!Nice work.

There is a fierce battle of the pixels going on that takes away my attention from the animtion

You ain't seen nothin' yet.
(But the shadow bugs aren't my fault, I don't think.)

This one adds gravy, but no meat. just a better story-board, if that is the right term.

My concern with animating shadows here is adding time to the set up and rendering process. It would seem if the time setting remains static, SU needs to do a lot less computing when rendering. ???
I will likely add more of that, though, and for me, time will flow backward! This because the road in, the approach, is from the west, and the desired path is around the south side to the east and then to the back (north).
