The Empire [Google] strikes back
-
After the attack by (probably) Chinese hackers against Internet Explorer 6, Google has decided to take action, and that not against the hackers but against Microsoft .
It seems that Google wants to ban Windows from its offices:

http://www.heise.de/newsticker/meldung/Google-gibt-Windows-den-Laufpass-1012634.htmlHow does this affect Sketchup? Will we have to buy Apple software, that means also buy Apple hardware?
Can they keep the low amount of bugs in the Windows version or will they drop it for an iPad version? -
looks like they are making the case for...Chrome OS

It certainly does, and for the majority of people I would agree.
However for those folk, like us that need a full OS in order to run apps like SU, Max, render engines and have libraries of models and textures it would not work.
I would love to get a very simplified OS that has absolute minimal 'stuff', sort of tailored to my needs.

For it to affect Sketchup they would have to be actively working on updating the software.
So no worries there

Seriously! The people your insulting read this forum on a pretty regular basis, a little courtesy would be nice.

Of course yes, that is the near futur: all on the Net nothing in the pocket!

Relax,... I used a smiley at the end of the sentence, which automatically makes it okay for me to say
On a more serious note. I understand my comment could be read in several ways. 'They' refers to Google, not to the people actively working on fine tuning Sketchup. The comment on itself only states the fact that Sketchup today is simply not what it could have been.
Hope I didn't step on too many toes...
