In need of a weedy lawn
-
Hi all,
I have been requested by a client to show adjoining properties with a lawn that looks less than spectacular. Gotta love their selling angle .
So, does anyone have any seamless materials that resemble a lawn that is full of weeds and has bare spots, etc.?

Rick, here's a couple of images in a skp file that might help. The first is a fairly even...but slightly baldy...patch of grass. The second is the same image with extra-added baldiness. Either image on its own will have a fairly obvious repeat, so what you do is coat the entire lawn with one of the images, then draw freeform shapes all over it with the freehand tool and paint the other image into these 'islands'. You might need to tweak the edges a little if they happen to cut right through the middle of a lighter patch.
It's not perfect but the end result is that you can cover large areas with only two fairly small images, instead of having a single hi-res image covering half an acre....which probably wouldn't display properly in SU anyway, because of the OpenGL restriction.

I took two textures and synthed them and made it seamless, you may either like the synthed version or the seperate ones.

Y'all need to throw in some crabgrass, dandelions and henbit.

Thank you all for your contributions. If I don't say it enough, I LOVE SketchUcation and the fast responses!
