Are you sure it's Sketchup? I remember lego instructions looking like this in the early 90's, and always assumed they had some kind of in-house tool to produce them. That or someone really, really good with a technical pen...

well, ofcourse i'm not sure about it, but it seemed so much like SU to me...
But maybe Pilou is right, i had never seen their application before, so it could be an ad hoc app.
Anyway, it could be possible to use SU for such a purpose.I do this for the company i'm working for..

SketchUp would make great build sheets. I've experimented a little using plug-ins:

                http://sketchuptips.blogspot.com/2009/05/lego-ldraw-build-instructions-in.html

Unfortunately, I don't think I still have the plug-ins on disk so they would need re-made from scratch.

The image below was automated using a script. It sorted the bricks by Z height, then exported an image for each level of the build. The images were them combined in a editor.

i think if anyone has a copy it would be nice if they posted it and Jim could get a copy back. Maybe you could list all the plugins you lost. i'm sure there are copies hangin around.
