Grass on a pattern
-
@ Scott,
Im looking for more control over my grass. Ive
seen scenes with grass that are made with patches
and edges look rough and not round.
Here are some good renders on grass.
If you can see the 4th one with a hill.

Well first those are not sketchup models or sketchup renders. Those are obviously from a software that has far more control over vegetation and form. The ground could be modeled like that in sketchup with some plugins and creative modeling but the rest of the vegetation would have to be done external of sketchup to reach that kind of quality. You may want to look into the sandbox tools and watch the videos as well as look into the plugins for organic modeling within sketchup.

i believe scott was refering to your link:
not your model. -
@ Scott,
Seeing is believing.
The 2d image of the boy is a model in SketchUp 7. I removed the colors.
The tree is made with ngPlant and fits nicely in SketchUp.
Flowers ive been using are from the 3dwarehouse. I removed the
lower pedals and colored them yellow. Only one is seen in the
images. This is the one: http://sketchup.google.com/3dwarehouse/details?mid=1f8275f1c106144ff11c3739edd52fa3&prevstart=0 -
Thanks, xrok1.
I thought Scott was after my secretes.

Very cool image, not sure what was used, the shadows don't look right however.
Still great image.

Hi David!
..indeed, I', really interested in the technique you used for to make those trees: they seem to be great. Is it a shareable model? Is that something commercial? How did you achieve such a good texture mapping?I'm so sorr:, I know I'm kinda spamming all the vegetation threads, but I can't get good greenery models...

Nope but I would like the secrets of the link to the image you gave originally with the waterfall!
Like I said before, you need to work on the ground before you start adding more trees and vegetation otherwise it will always look flat with a load of trees.

I dont know what they used but i cant keep up with all of those trees
and grass. -
@ pibuz,
Materials and textures are blender materials.
