Nissan Juke!
-
Hi Guys,
I've been reading about Nissan's new 'sports car' utility, the Juke. Opinion seems to be divided on its appearance. The more I look at it, the more I like it, especially the ALL-MODE 4x4-i – a new development of Nissan’s electronic all-wheel drive system, which now features torque vectoring designed to enhance agility and reduce understeer when cornering.

I think it's typical, the front grill (light placement) is a little unusual but the body is the typical suv "crossover". It seems that all new vechiles are made with a cookie cutter system, no "style". Back in the day you could tell a vechiles make and model by its body or even just the taillights. Granted they were gas guzzlers, weren't as safe, and didn't have all the bells and whistles but they each had their own "style".

very brash and inelegant!! but some people like that. kinda looks like a porsche cayenne with chav body styling.
4 wheel drive is pointless unless you are actually going to go off road.....or you have so much horsepower that you need it. these SUV crossovers are very confused. and with those tyres you wont be going very far off road. its like the bmw x6...its not really a car and its not really a 4x4.
and they undertseer because they are top heavy, you want no (less) understeer....you need a lower/wider car im afraid.

I think it could be a winner. In my neck of the woods nearly every second car is a big bulky 4x4. I find these things overkill for most users. Its also a pain meeting them coming against you at night with their high set lights.
I think the detailing in the Juke is cool both out and inside. They nearly got the concealed rear door handle right, it was perfect on the prototype but I imagine function had to be met.
Okay, their is no way the Juke could handle any serious off roading but again its not designed to do this. 4x4s can be very useful in the winters we are now seeing over here and possibly will see in the future.
I have been a fan of low cars but now appreciate the advantages of being 'up' that little bit, not Range Rover 'up' where you need a ladder to get in and out. Driving country roads with a high line of vision makes for a more pleasant drive also somewhat safer.
I am looking forward to seeing how the Juke handles. I have a feeling it will have the fun factor.

"Chelsea tractors" for taking the "wains" to school and driven by "weemen"who couldn't jugdge the width of the vehicle to within a bloody yard. I am sick of Audi Q7, Range Rover Sports and Land Crusiers blocking roads in the morning because stupid "bints" can't bloody well drive them. Make them all drive Nissan bloody micras so the rest of us can get to where we ant to go in the mornings!!!!

Guys, I think you may be missing the point of the Juke. The description reads 'Beneath the skin, the Juke features a development of the same platform that underpins the Micra and the Clio of Nissan's Alliance partner'
Admittedly the above picture gives the impression that the Juke is a big 4x4, this is not the case. Nissan have identified a niche market for a small compact urban 4x4!

Driving my Fusion along a country lane met a large 4x4 coming the other way. The brain dead female expected ME to pull off the carriageway onto the verge!!!
Needless to say I just sat there in neutral with the handbrake on until she saw sense -
Reminds me of a hiking shoe. Not quite a boot and not quite a sneaker (tennis shoe). After watching a few videos, I realized it's a lot smaller than it looks, not all that much bigger than a mini cooper. I'm not so keen on the design and I think the grill shape and side fenders make it look like it's smiling. The other innovations however and quite good and I'd imagine it will be a popular vehicle.

Not sure I like the interior, looks like they merged a motorbike with a car.

Then you have the 'butterfly' doors or are they still called 'suicide' doors?
