Still haven't finished that loco ,but i can finally show this beauty off , and the evolution of it. I participated with it at the Local Motors San Francisco Competition for and electric shooting break.
A big thanks to Stefanq and Ely for the renders, help and advice.

The FORCE it's strong in you! Haha!
-
Wondered when you were going to post something again, well the long wait was worth it way to go Marion terrific, really excellent well done (but still waiting for the loco)
-
Lol Stefan.
Thanks Dolf, i hope i will finish the loco sometime this year -
haha nice work man havent seen any of your stuff for months and months, weve both come a long way since that F5 forum, love to see some new ships from you?
Anyway was wondering if I could use your building here http://forums.sketchucation.com/download/file.php?id=27185&mode=view
Im making an orbital elevator and have lots of buildings dotted about but id love to use this or a modified version for the centerpiece skyscraper if you will let me. You can see my model over at scifi meshes or on the last page of my thread here. Here is a pic of it and I think your building with some heavy antennas would fit in nicely in replacing one of placeholders. Ill credit you of course! Anyway the cars are awesome ill make sure to check this out more, email me if I can use the building or PM me at SFM if you still use it, thanks!!!!!

Now tell me Marian, when will you finally model that great castle you have at home for GE?
(These cars and all the space- and aircrafts you are building are really stunning - don't get me wrong - what I know, I would not have the patience for sure)
-
Well, that's a good idea Gai, but I'm not a good builder , i did have a CD with how the castle would have looked in Middle Ages, have to take a better look when i get back to Suceava, I haven't seen it in years. Maybe it has some blueprints.
I always wanted to have the entire castle as a model but i wouldn't know where to start.
Also there was another castle down the hill from that one, which is being "restored" for more than 10 years.I used play around there when i was a kid. Here is a pic from the History Museum in Suceava.

Great work Marion just shows you can do anything stunningly well great work fantastic renders

There is a guy in Hungary who builds all sorts of historic castles:
http://sketchup.google.com/3dwarehouse/search?uq=15702375888458750339&scoring=m
most of which do not exist any more however get on the GE 3D Layer. There could be some improvements with modelling and texturing but still they are such cool models that I would never "report" them as not existing!
So hurry up - that's also a very nice piece you have over there.
But then sorry for pushing the thread off-topic; I will now shut up.

Hey don't worry, this thread is about my wips, this can be a future wip.
I noticed, Hungary has a much stronger presence on the 3d warehouse and GE with the buildings, few Romanians bother to make the current buildings, much less for castles and such, but there are a few.
The castles that the guy makes, are they in ruins or they're completely destroyed?
If they're just ruins, in a way they still exist, and a full modeled castle is more impressive than just modeling ruins.
I'm really annoyed that during the 18th century most of our old castles got destroyed because of the Turks, and doubly annoyed that the government hasn't restored them as much as they could have.....
Oh well now I'm moving away from topic -
Well, after the Turks here, on occasion of one of our regular (annual ) revolts against the Habsburgs, they loaded most of our (smaller) castles with gunpowder and exploded (and used the rest as garrisons for their troops) so most of them are more or less in ruins now. There are some ruins but most would be unrecognisable if there weren't modellers like this chap.
-
That's such a shame , but that's history I guess.
Isn't SU great, teaching everything from history to.....uhmm other cool stuff -
Ah yes - and fortunately it's not "Poser" with all those oversized boob Barbie dolls.

Lol, we would be one sick bunch if this forum would be called the 3D Doll-ucation

Hey Gaieus, I found that cd with the castle in my town i was talking about.
The cd also contains a 3d walkthrough and more info on the rooms in it.
It's still a daunting task to model this, as i'm not a architecture guy. -
I've made a clip showing most of the stages of my Sunbeam concept car.
I'm afraid there are not terribly many pictures not already shown here except in the last part which contains pictures of the latest stages.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gomKM8wGUII
