Crash on mac os X 10.5.6
-
Hello everybody.
I have a problem.
I waited for a long time to use SketchyPhysics on my macbook pro intel core 2 duo 2.5ghz 4 gigs memory under mac OSX 10.5.6.
So i downloaded the "SketchyPhysics3RC1-MacAndWin-Fixed" and install it right where it deserve to be.
Launched Sketchup 7 french and try to use SketchyPhysics, All menu are visible and ok.
Made a cube, put a Hinge and link it to the cube.
But when i click on the play/pause physics animation, sketchup crashes every time.So what did i miss, or, is Sketchyphysics realy compatible with macintosh ?
Help me !! this plugin is so amazing, i could not wait any longer to make it work.
Apologize for my english, i'm just a french... -
I use it in my MacBook Intel, and works. It crashes when I try to load big simulations, but for simple ones it works. I have 4 gigas of ram. The problem might be that the physics for the macs is not very well develop.

I read many post on Sketchyphisics mac, it seams mac user havent got any problem.
Anybody can tell me witch version of sketchup and Sketchyphisics can I use on a macbookpro under mac OSX leopard 10.5.8 ?
Maybe I dont use the correct version. I tryed all mac version of Sketchyphisics mac.
List below:
SketchyPhysics3a-Feb9-Mac.zip
SketchyPhysics3b-Mar17-MAC.zip
SketchyPhysics3RC1-MacAndWin.zip
SketchyPhysics3RC1-MacAndWin-Fixed.zip
SP3x-Apr5-MacAndWin.zip
And I read the tutorial.
Test it on Sketchup 6 pro french, Sketchup 7 pro french.
All seems to be functional, I can create boxes, planes, Hinges, linking groups to hinges, get the ui dialog, enter some data, but each time I press the play/pause button, sketchup quit unexpectively to the desktop... and this is same result in all version of Sketchyphisics on skechup 6 or 7.
I got a "Pizza" colored wheel, and a blank window where normaly are the control sliders, and a crash to finder.
Any solution ? -
I have a 10.4 intel mac, and for me SketchyPhysics crashes frequently enough that I make sure to save after every change I make. The more complex the model, the more likely to crash. It's really frustrating sometimes, but it does play simulations usually.

Hi,
SU stands for SketchUp
SP stands for SketchyPhysicsOn Mac OS X 10.4.11, I had sketchup 7 to crash everytime I simply create a floor (from SP toolbar), 2 simple square faces on it and simply switch to "move/copy" tool.
Try to simply do the same and tell us if it crashes too.I thought it was SU7, so I copied sketchyphysics3 RC plugin to a SU6 install I kept (because it was working ), did the same experiment and .. it crashed. SO the problem was really SP and not SU.
Then I tried to remove sketchysolids.rb from SP3 RC (another one was present in sketchyphsics3 folder, I deleted the one at the root of the plugin) and ... wow, it works fine! No crash!
Also I noticed that OpenGL need latest version, check if you'Re up to date.
Bonne chance

Spoke too fast SU7 still crashes but not SU6 with latest SP3 RC.
You can google "download sketchup mac older version" to get the link to SU6.Grrr. Ça me gonfle !
