Interior scene (Vfsu Mac) Update 12/01/10
-
Excellent, except the carpet nap looks too long, almost like grass that hasn't been mowed.
-
Very nice, Roevens.
-
Thanks guys, I really appreciate the comments, it keeps me driven, hehe
@d12dozr, I've got the same comment on the carpet in the ASGVIS forums, it's ment
to be a 'hairy' carpet though, but I'll lower the multiplier values. Here's a new render I've made, more to come (still a bedroom, kitchen and exterior to do so)
Grats ;D

Really nice design and renders...!
My crit would be for the last render, where the palm gives it away...
You should either use a high quality 3D model, where you apply good materials or you can insert an entourage in post pro... -
nice interior but the sun is way too harsh!
how long did it take to set up the materials/environment?
ive been waiting for this vray4su for mac for a long time.
-
@ Frederik, Thank you Frederik, glad to hear this, btw is there any new news for TW on Mac? I noticed the same on the palm, actually it
is a good quality model(from Solo's pack) but it has been my fault to forget to re-apply the texture which I noticed in the morning when
my render is finished, this monday me and the client will be 'previewing' the renders, afterwards I'll render them all so all glitches are gone
with possible new proposals.@ olishea, Thanks man, I'll take this into account for the final renders! The environment were merely 2 minutes, I can't exactly how much
time I've been putting in the materials as I make and apply them while modeling, it requires some skill and make look a bit sluggish in
beginning, but after you've learned the first steep curve it won't be too much hassle, let's say it could've taken me half an hour or less,
notice that I made all materials from scratch, so I haven't imported any. Thanks for the post folks !

Unfortunately no news other than we're still working on it and hopefully will be able to have something ready in February...
-
Okay no problem, I was just very curious about it as I heard so many good things but haven't been able to test it out yet
I guess I'll wait then till somewhere around February! Thanks for info
-
Here's he first final image! (other were somewhat pre-final)
Cheers!

<tongue hanging out>
nice details, great mood. can feel the summer air rushing past!
I recommend adding a very very small amount of noise to disguise the posterization/banding whatever.
FREDERIK: that twilight apple logo looks very alluring. I'm gagging for the mac version! I dont like windows sketchup!!
-
Nice mood. Yes, a summer air.
I'll stay in bed, my feet.. well this carpet looks somehow dangerous.
lol I really like these renders.
I copy oli, some noise is needed here. -

I'll make sure you'll be one of the first persons to know when it's ready...

Nice, but let me crit a little.
- I agree with other posters about the brown grass, rug. I'd hate to see what kind of vacuum needed for that!
- The wall that the bed is on - it appears like it doesn't go all the way up (there is a gap between that room and the adjacent room), or is it an optical illusion?
- Having an HVAC background, I see no HVAC - I guess the window open is the HVAC? Just kidding on this one.
What renderer and how long did it take to produce the render?
Rick

Keep it up!
-
I'm liking this, but what is putting things of to me is te leather at the sofas. It really doesn't look like real leather and you probably need a litle more detail on this one. Other thing the edges in the sofas look to sharp.
Hope you don't mind the critic:)
-
@ olishea and michaliszissiou, thanks for the comments! I'll see what I can do with the noise, btw, should it best be chromatic (black and white) or normal noise? I haven't tried
this before. (It's my first commercial project in Vray, previously I used Kerkythea's unbiased methods, which really didn't require adding extra noise )
The carpet I'll keep it as is, I wanted to have a hairy carpet, it's looking somewhat sharp.. but okay..@ Rick, Yes.. now you say so.. seems like I forgot to fill the gap Mind the gap!
Oh yes there is a HVAC, it's incorporated in the curtain which improves the airflow a lot!
Made in Vray beta for Mac in about 3 hours (I made my settings much higher then needed I think.. xD )@ KXI System, thank you! This is apreciated
@ DacaD, Your critics are welcome to me as long as you keep them formal instead of blaming hehe, good point
on the leather though, I've been trying a lot, until now this was unfortunately the best I could get but I'll tweak
it some more! -
Uniform monochromatic should be fine. Is there any dithering option in vray? Or use a texture for walls not just a plain colour.

Thank you, I don't know anything about it although maybe a very subtle/soft bump on the walls would be good? They do have a noise option in the material editor
-
"They do have a noise option in the material editor"
Try it, sounds interesting. Monochromatic noise in photoshop.
