How do i make joints stay connected

after i put all the joints where i want them and everything is grouped correctly. I animate the model and it falls away. but when i make a parent piece static my model falls apart. what have i missed?

Did you use the joint connecter to connect the joints with the group you want it to work with?

Yeah, but I had grouped the joints in the wrong sequence, I got it to work last night.. Thanks
