The Spirit Of The SCF Corner Bar
-
Been trying to stay clear of several recent events here (I've made my feelings clear enough in the past anyway :`) but I gotta give at least a nod in agreement with Juan...obscuring this portion of the openness of our forum goes against it's spirit IMO.
-
Tom, this could be the first time we dissagree.
My thinking is if an unregistered user visits this site they are more than likely looking for SU answers, if they do not find it they will register and ask a question, thus becoming a part of our forum.
Now the Corner bar is used by members to get things off their chest, rant (popular), get political, jokes, etc. It can at times get a little brutal (can be fun too) and for this reason alone I believe it's for registered members and not unregistered lurkers. -
Hi guys,
I think it was a mistake by me as I was just checking permission sets and I guess (probably thought) I was checking those of search bots but now it may have been "Guests" (i.e those not logged in).
Not logged in and not who are not registered, Juan (you obviously do not register every time you want to post but log in). BTW that's just one single hit of a button so I do not really see the point not logging in and (say) even not seeing attachments when you are registered already but that's just my personal opinion.
Anyway, I will check it again (sorry but not today) although I might even like the idea this way (at least I sleep on it).
FYI - bots have NEVER had access to the corner bar (not even in the old SCF1) and certain other forums/subforums of course

Thanks Gaeius, for the explanation.
and Tom, for your support.
Cheers -
Yeah, that was it. Bots are just tw line upper than Guests and after I chose the usergroup, may have still scrolled. Or anything.

superb ¡
Thank you -
It sounds like a script for a sketch does it not?:
A peasant has cried revolt against the Gatekeeper of the Great City. Soon the usual assassins appear from the shadows to defend the honor of the King. Dissenting murmurs can be heard amongst the throng outside the city walls , when suddenly the White Knight appears on the castle wall.
"Uhm ... It's a mistake!" he cries. "Things are not as they appear, - the Wizard has mixed up the keys."
Once again peace can return to the land...

Not really.
You may be right Remus. Sometimes reality is more absurd than Farce.

But whilst the peasants returned to their villages the assassins laid tablets marked with the names of the rebels before the King.
“Banish them Sire” they whispered , “Let us poison their streams and purge them from the valleys and the fields...”
