      Hi Guys,

I remember reading about Psystar some time ago but thought they had bitten the dust. But it seems this is not the case! I've just read this,

"Psystar plans to license their virtualization technology which effectively makes your system Mac OS X compatible. Psystar is currently in a long legal battle with Apple for violating the end-user license agreement of Mac OS X which prohibits third party installations.

The licensing of their virtualization technology would allow hardware manufacturers to release systems that are Mac OS X compatible without installing the OS. Customers would then be able to install Mac OS X by simply inserting the retail DVD and launching the installer.

Apple may be able to sue a company which sells systems with Mac OS X installed but it will be next to impossible to sue every individual who goes out, purchases Mac OS X, and installs on their 'compatible' PC."

The configurations and prices look interesting for those on a budget.

I used to think that it must have been Dell who were funding Psystar, but after this latest move, I can't help feeling now that it is Steve Ballmer & Microsoft pushing this.

You have to remember that a Mac is a 'product' NOT necessarily a PC as such (although it is!). While PC's are quite capable of running OS X, you miss out on the elegance of an Apple product- and lets face it, Apple's products do look wonderful don't they? I was a big Dieter Rams/ Braun fan too you know 😄
