Bathroom - WIP
-
Decided to try and model something different from my usual so I started modeling a bathroom. I modeled everything except the mirror so far. I had fun using Fredo's TOS, JPP & RC for the sink. The render is just a clay Twilight render on a low setting that I played around with.
I would love some advice on what to add to the scene from you interior gurus. I really stink at interior designing (as my wife will testify) and don't know the first thing about what goes in a fancy bathroom, so I played with TIG's lathe tool and made bottles. (Does anyone even put bottles in the bathroom? LOL) I'd like to do a fully textured render, but need to figure out the lighting first. Do you interior guys usually put all four walls on a room, or punch a wall out to let light in? I was thinking maybe curtains, a few candles, some towels on the curved shelf, maybe a vanity??
Thanks in advance!

definitely excellent modelling using these new precious rubies..

Curtains in the bathroom??? Must be an american thing!
Mate the room is rather big!
See if this helps at all mate. you can see downlights on the right, emitters panels (one top, two bottom) with blickers so as to soften the edge light projection and opening for skydome illumination.

If it helps, this is a very large bathroom I did using items I got from the Google warehouse,
and rendered it in Podium. ( Nice modeling BTW )

Very good modelling work, congrats...
Just a small crit, the bath, and around the bath are not coordinate with the wonderful sink cabinet, I would like to see more moulding... -
Finally got around to playing with this scene some more. I don't think I would make for a good interior designer and this is not necessarily my taste in decor, but I had fun with it and it was good practice and a good modeling exercise. I wouldn't say it's done by any stretch, but I doubt I'll have time to play mess with it again in the near future.
Rendered in Twilight and Post in LightZone and Photoshop.

Nice texturing, would you recommend Lightzone?
-
Yes, I would recommend. It's a great program and easy to use. There are a ton of settings and cool spline masking to limit effects. It's worth the $100.

great render earthmover, this is really nice job, i also saw the other day the pool render and it was awsome, great modelling btw, and textures looks great!! keep posting bro!

Its great! Lighting is good, bump on the floor is good, mirror is great (so great you can see the contractor never installed the crown molding on the other side of the room ) Seriously though, it looks good, Adam.

Thanks guys. I guess with a mirror in the room it's not good to neglect the opposite side of the room!
-
very nice detailing and rendering. Twilight seems to be treating you well
-
Fantastic modeling. Good texturing too. Did you add the background outdoors in post or did you add it into your model somehow before rendering?
-
Troy, thanks, I added the background in Post. I originally had one set up as a billboard with a .jpg directly in Sketchup, but the raw render came out pretty dark. As I adjusted the levels, the background became too saturated so I removed it and added a new one in Photoshop.

Why didn't you just use the background directly in TWR...??
You can use spherical backgrounds as well as background images directly in TWR... -
Thanks Kim. I'd rather add the image in a way that I can see it's positioning. I guess in Twilight you could always hide the model and do a quick test render to see it. Didn't think of that until just now.
Here's an updated render...different angle...a little DOF.

Adam, the last one it's gorgeous! It has everything, photo-real look, artistic teouch...awesome! Congratulations!
